Another huge shoutout to Lantuag Outdoors for this very memorable trip! Book na kayo guys. Sobrang sulit and I believe they have the best rates for hiking and beach trips. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Lol nauna magpromote HAHAHAHA

And so after 57 months, Iโ€™m back sa hiking and shempre yung pasweet lang hahaha. For this trip, it was an absolute challenge because the rain wasnโ€™t gently falling ๐Ÿ˜‚. I will no longer tell you how we got here. You have Waze for that ๐Ÿ™„. What youโ€™re about to read is the realnesszt of this trip and that itโ€™s not โ€œjust Bulacanโ€. Buckle up emme emme char but yeah, this is quite a long read.

First stop: Tila Pilon Hills, Doรฑa Remedios Trinidad, Bulacan

Entrance fee is 30php and tour guide fee is 300php.  What surprised me was that there are 150 tour guides for this scenic spot. And shempre, we all know na may mga araw na wala mashado tourist due to the pandemic so como estas naman sa rotation. They all deserve a good tip. Cheapskate begone. โœŒ๏ธ

Pero ghuurrrlllll bakit maamboooonnn? Very wrong sa trek / hike ang wetness energy dahil shempre, madulas. Accident-prone. Good thing umaraw naman halfway ng walk so eto ang kinalabasan by yourstrulee bumblebee. May 2 choices after a few minutes of walk and this decision can entirely change your fate and existence. Char again! Pipili ka lang naman kung easy route or steep route ung aakyatan mo to reach the summit.

Vocab 101:

Easy Route: Lesser chances of winning a casualty award.
Steep Route: More more chances of winning a casualty award with freebies – usually Betadine and bandage
Summit: Not the water but the rurok of tagumpay

At dahil sabi nga ng mga pro kong kasama, easy pa din ang steep route, nagSteep Route kamiiii ๐Ÿ˜˜ D naman ganun kasama hehehe More pictures sa taas then sa easy route na kami dumaan pabalik.

Second stop: Candle Monument, DRT, Bulacan

Camping time. First, we have to sign-up sa registration area bago makaakyat sa Candle Monument. Entrance Feeโ€™s 80php. With tour guide, itโ€™s 170 php per head. (Take note na dito na din yung registration ng next spot which is the 13 Waterfalls.) Dito kami nagsetup ng tent and all but shempre, hindi pwedeng ganun-ganun n lang. Isa shang maiksing hike pero nakakahaggard kasi umulan nanaman tapos madulas TAPOS BITBIT MO LAHAT NG GAMIT – personal stuff, tent, ice chest, cook set, etcโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ˜’ kapoy oy

Pagkasetup ng tent, luto-luto naman. Tinola and steamed siomai for dinner. Emperador Lights for inuman – I donโ€™t drink. Shinare ko lang trip nila hahaha. Hotdog, tocino, scrambled eggs and fried rice for breakfast. More picture pero d ganun ka-okay kasi nga maulan. Sobrang ginaw pa kasi mahangin din. Very helpful tip: magdala ng maayos na cover ng tent para hindi mabasa yung loob and para din hindi ganun kaginaw. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Hehehe Buti umaraw ng slight kinabukasan so nagkaClearing. Passable photos served with love and dedication har!

Third stop: 13 Waterfalls, DRT, Bulacan

So after ng mabilisang overnight camp, lipat naman sa isa pang campsite. Meaning, binaba namin lahat ng gamit from Candle Monument, naghabal-habal sa pababang long-winding road papuntang jump-off point then more walk na halos puro pababa at naging mas delikado dahil sa putik mong kaibigan char! Amputik talaga dahil sa ulan so buti n lang nakashoes ako at walang naiiwang tsinelas na eksena ๐Ÿ˜‚. ๐Ÿ˜†) and mataas daw yung tubig so yeah, letโ€™s start stretching zem long legs ๐Ÿ˜. Another helpful tip: magdala or maghanap ng kahoy/stick pantukod sa buong walk.

Nabasa. Nadulas. Naputikan.

Vocab 102:

Jump-Off Point – Dito magstart ung kalbaryo ng hike.

Pagdating ng campsite, we were surprised na may cottage / rooms na nakasetup sa baba papuntang first waterfall. So shempre inavail na namin agad to secure our belongings kasi ang mahirap sa tent, kahit lagyan mo ng padlock, pwede bitbitin ng masasamang loob yung buong tent ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜† KEMS! The rate is either 120php per head or 500php per room. Ang peg nila is 6 heads per room but we thought the roomโ€™s too small given na may mga gamit pa. And in my case, may 3 akong bags and I stand 6ft tall without heels so good luck naman HAHAHA. We rented 3 rooms and 9 kami so do the math har! More Ginebra San Miguel naman sila this time. Humabol ng fried kikiam and siomai for pulutan then we ended the night to get a good rest dahil maaga ang start kinabukasan.

Ininit na kaldereta and sinigang, tocino, longganisa, hotdog, salted egg with tomatoes, tinapa and plain rice for breakfast.

Iโ€™m no expert in rating this trek but the struggles for me are the following factors:

  • Crossing a body of water na hindi mo kita yung aapakan sa baba due to mud brought by the rainfall will make you hesitant. Good thing may tour guide to assist.
  • Slippery stones and make shift bamboo bridges but may ropes and handles naman so oks din.
  • Yung mga makakasalubong mong tourists na hindi tinapos lahat ng waterfalls which is understandable because the route isnโ€™t for everyone. Mabato talaga and madulas. Mejo mahirap lang kasi may masisikip na path so mahirap magkasalubong.

Sabi sa inyo mahaba diba? ๐Ÿ˜˜ Tip lang din sa mga sasama sa mga ganitong tours, it is very possible na hindi masunod itinerary niyo. Along with Acts of God are several factors that can change your plans. Here, struggle and data signal and the whole place doesn’t have electricity so you have to understand and go with it. At the end of the day, masaya kayong lahat na uuwi baon ang bagong experience. And did I mention na isa lang kakilala ko sa trip na ‘to. The rest are strangers (at least to me) and we laughed hard while sharing views and opinions ng kahit anong ilatag na topic habang umiikot ang tagay.

Thank you once again Lantuag Outdoors sa guidance and support. Those spots were incredibly breathtaking and choosing to spend the long weekend with you guys was totally worth it!!!

Hanggang sa muling rampa! ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿฆ„

Just do it. Circa 2016 to 2020
